Terms of Use

The deal, in plain words.

Last updated: 5 September 2026

The short version

Job Counselor is a tool for thinking, not a verdict on any company and not legal advice. The scores reflect what you told it. One payment unlocks it; Apple handles the money. Do not use it to make public accusations about a named employer.

1. Agreement

By downloading or using Job Counselor (“the app”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

2. What the app is, and what it is not

The app helps you record and think about a hiring process, or about a job you already have. It asks questions, applies rules you configured, and produces a score and written observations.

Important

Job Counselor is not legal advice, employment advice, financial advice, or a professional opinion of any kind. We are not a law firm, a union, or a recruitment agency. Nothing in the app creates a professional relationship between us. Employment law differs by country and changes over time, and the app’s wording is general. If something you record appears unlawful, speak to a union representative or a qualified employment lawyer where you live.

A score is a summary of your own answers measured against your own stated rules. It is not a factual finding about any company, not a rating, and not evidence of wrongdoing. Two people can audit the same employer and get different scores, because the rules are theirs.

Decisions about applying for, accepting or leaving a job are entirely yours.

3. Your content, and using it responsibly

Everything you enter stays on your device and remains yours. You are responsible for what you record and for how you use it.

In particular, you agree not to:

4. Purchases

The app is free to try with one company. Unlocking the rest is a single, one-time purchase. There is no subscription and nothing recurring.

Payment is taken by Apple through the App Store under Apple’s terms. We never receive or see your payment details. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us; request one through reportaproblem.apple.com. You can restore a previous purchase from within the app at any time.

5. Anonymous statistics

Statistics shown in the app are aggregated from people who chose to contribute. They describe what those people reported, not a scientific sample and not a statement about any particular employer. Figures only appear once enough responses exist to be meaningful, and we do not guarantee their accuracy or that any figure will remain available. How the data is collected and protected is set out in the privacy policy.

6. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own, in line with the App Store terms. The app, its content, questionnaires, wording and branding remain our property. You may not copy, redistribute, resell or create derivative works from them.

7. Availability and changes

We may update the app, change or remove features, or revise the questionnaires. We try to keep it working but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may discontinue the service. Your locally stored data remains on your device regardless.

8. No warranty, and limits on liability

The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will identify every problem with an employer, that its observations are correct in your circumstances, or that following them will produce any particular outcome.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost earnings or opportunities arising from a job you did or did not take. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

9. Age

The app is intended for people of working age and is not directed at children.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections available to you in your country of residence.

11. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
